The bike industry sees fads come and go. Innovation doesn’t always assure success or even relevance. Luckily, the 29er revolution is one that’s here to stay--and for good reason. There’s no denying the rock crawling, root crushing power of a larger wheel. Making the largest of obstacles the smallest of matters is a defining trait of these muddy beasts. By offering decreased rolling resistance, increased traction when cornering and improved ground clearance, one ride upon one of these massive behemoths is sure to sway even the staunchest skeptic. The Diamondback Overdrive packs a punch in terms of value and affordability and takes 29ers to a new level. The improved 2013 6061-T6 Aluminum Overdrive series frame boasts of newly formed top and down tubes, a machined headtube, and forged drop outs with a replaceable derailleur hanger. The Geometry is spot on. The ever so sloping top tube provides ample standover clearance. A 71° head tube angle and a 73° seat tube angle create the perfect XC/trail geometry. The 390mm (15.4 inch) chainstays equate to an extremely snappy rig and the ability to easily get the front wheel off the ground – something that not all 29ers can be so proud of. The Overdrive is a fantastic entry level 29er well balanced between value and performance. The SR Suntour XCT gives you 100mm of travel for the perfect amount of cushion up front. Add to that Disc brakes courtesy of Tektro and you have one of the best in class values for an entry level 29er period.

5I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride it where I like...
By iCON686
Unfortunately I can't. I am sure this will be an excellent bike when I receive all the parts necessary to put it together; but at the moment the threaded post and nut that holds the front wheel onto the fork is MIA. The packaging is very poor and this is probably the reason the part came loose and fell out of one of the box handle holes or something. I paid the extra money for Saturday shipping, which I did receive on Saturday, but now I have an incomplete bike, sitting upside down in my living room (looking quite amazing though) but missing the front wheel on this beautiful Sunday morning; I really was looking forward to taking it out for a spin...I will update and give this product more stars when I have the quick release skewer that holds the front wheel on. Until that happens, I have to give this product one star.***UPDATE 11FEB13***I just got off the phone with Diamondback and they were extremely helpful, I was told they would be shipping me the missing part at not cost. Great customer service from the company. Will update again after it is received and installed.***UPDATE 14FEB13***I received an after market quick release skewer for the front wheel today free of charge from Diamondback. The bike rides great and I am really happy with my purchase and the way that the company handled the issue.

5Tough bike!!!
By rog67
This isn't a good "entry level" 29'er....it's a very good bike for people that can't afford an expensive one, I've had no problem keeping up with people on 3000 dollars bikes.

4Good Bike, but TROUBLE with seat post/saddle hardware!
By Jason Gooch
Nice, big bike that has a ton of momentum once you get going, with just a few issues! Disc brakes are touchy, meaning the slightest adjustment results in squealing and rubbing. I had to loosen cables to avoid the rubbing, but lost some stopping power. All to be expected to some degree. BUT-- the biggest issue is that the seat post and saddle that come with the bike are UNUSABLE in my case. The bolt and hardware to adjust the saddle tilt are COMPLETELY SEIZED. I soaked it in penetrating oil for a week and it still won't budge, eventually stripping, leaving it worthless. Ended up switching to older setup from previous bike that actually works, rather than simply being able to tilt the seat that comes with a brand new bike. Very frustrating. Diamondback, is there anything to be done about this? This is my third Diamondback and this WOULD be a 5 star review if the seat tube and saddle were usable, but in my case it is worthless. Regarding the sizing, I feared 22" frame would be too big for me according to size guides at 6'0" and 265lbs with longer arms, but turned out just right and that I'd probably been on undersized bikes the whole time. Again, nearly perfect (for me) with the exception of the WAY over tightened bolt under the seat. A good bike, that essentially came without a seat post and saddle!
