This bike has been an okay bike for me but I've had to learn how to tune it since Walmart put it together and every shop I took it to didn't do a very good job tuning the derailleurs. Since I've tuned it myself it's been running pretty good. I take it on blue and black diamond trails in Colorado. I've had to upgrade the cassette and rear rim to a quick release with a Shimano 8 speed due to chips in the teeth only weeks after purchase (May have been caused by my inexperience at the time). I've also upgraded the shifters and grips to a "quick shift" Shimano setup because when you are going up or down extreme terrain it's very easy (and happens a lot) to shift when you don't want to due to the rolling style of shifter right next to the very small grips.Over all though, I'd have to say if you are starting out it's a great purchase for the price. It handles fairly decent on extreme terrain but you may need to get it professionally tuned right away so you don't have the same issues I had. I plan on upgrading to a 2013 Diamondback Recoil 29'er as soon as I have the money to do so.
